Methodology and limitations
This site reuses the datasets and charts from the earlier Tesla assignment. It keeps global deliveries, U.S. estimates, and European registrations separate. Both June and first-half European figures are included, and each table labels its time period.
- Different measures: Deliveries, estimated sales, and registrations are related but are not interchangeable. Do not add the three source totals.
- Overlapping rows: The EU is included in EU + EFTA + UK. June is included in January–June. The worldwide total is repeated for each model-group row.
- Different share denominators: KBB’s share is of the U.S. EV segment. ACEA’s manufacturer share is of all new-car registrations.
- Product detail: Tesla combines Model 3/Y in its worldwide data. U.S. estimates separate models. ACEA manufacturer totals include each brand’s powertrains.
- Precision: Calculations use unrounded counts and are displayed to one decimal place. Registration figures are provisional; sales estimates may be revised.
How the calculations work
Year-over-year change: (current value − prior-year value) ÷ prior-year value × 100.
Model 3/Y delivery share: 467,762 ÷ 480,126 × 100 = 97.4%.
Share of the delivery increase: (467,762 − 373,728) ÷ (480,126 − 384,122) × 100 = 97.9%.
